Drop Seventy-Two
Romans 12:1-2
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” (NASB1995).
For most of my life I have lived like a chameleon – adapting to my surroundings and current cultural acceptance. For example – for years, I dressed up every Sunday, pouring myself into pantyhose, heels and dresses as that was the expectation of dress for that church at that time. What I choose to wear each day is often determined by what others are wearing more than by what I plan to do. The same goes with holiday celebrations. So much is expected during this time of year that it is often difficult to tell if we are truly celebrating anything. It is five days before Christmas Day here in the USA. May our celebrations bring honor and glory to Jesus.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You again and always for the perfect gift of Jesus – our “Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). May our outward expressions truly reflect hearts that are filled with The Holy Spirit. As we sing praises, may our lives draw others to come to You. Thank you for loving us first, so that we can truly love each other.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
