Matthew 5:16

“Let your light shine before men in sch a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven” (NASB1995).

This was a wonderful week. We had an opportunity to serve our community, and everyone worked well together to accomplish the goal. So many showed up to help prepare and later participate in the event. Wednesday’s event validated a quote of Jesus found in Acts 20:35 “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (NASB1995). So thankful to work with such a generous group of people in such a loving community. Also, thankful that I have never been called to be a cook in any of the armed forces, nor any kitchen other than my own – and more grateful for those who are called to serve in those roles. Only twelve days until Christmas 2024 as I write this. As we prepare and participate in holiday festivities, may we be grateful and considerate as we interact with those around us.

Heavenly Father,

We praise You for all You have done and are doing in each of our lives. May we show Your love to those around us in all that we think, say and do. Help us to keep our focus on You - the reason for this season. Protect us from distractions that cause our light to flicker. May we prepare to share Jesus, the reason for our hope, as opportunities arise.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
