Zechariah 8:16

“These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gate” (NASB1995).

Freedom. It means so much to everyone, yet sometimes our point of view can bury the truth of the cost of freedom. The first time humans chose not to follow the one rule God had made, the result lead to death as part of life on this earth. The battle to be in control of our ourselves and surroundings interferes with the value of true freedom. The Truth can set you free, but it first must be embraced. There are those who laid down their lives for the sake of freedom for our nation. Jesus provided the ultimate sacrifice to save each of us from slavery to our own sinful nature. He showed us how to love those who do not understand so that one day all will recognize His great love for mankind.

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for allowing us to live free from the oppression our sinful desires create. Help us to embrace honesty and value truth when it is shared. You are the Way, the Truth and the Life. Thank you for all You have and continue to do for us each day. May we be open to truth and exercise our freedom with grace.

In Jesus Name we pray,

AMEN
