Drop Fifty-Five

Psalms 51:10

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me” (NASB1995).

Procrastination has been a big issue for me, especially this week. Two different devotionals shared the same message regarding how to pray. Naturally, both quoted Jesus’ message regarding how to pray and the example of the Lord’s prayer as found in Matthew chapter 6. Reflecting upon the fact that both devotionals pointed to the same thing resulted in realizing that the source of my procrastination is over complicating simple obedience. Further pondering lead me back to Psalms 51:10-13. My heart is calming, although I still need to work through priorities left in the wake of my wrestling with procrastination.

Heavenly Father,

You are worthy of all honor and praise. Cleanse our hearts and renew Your steadfast spirit within us. Through Your Holy Spirit, restore the joy of Your salvation and teach us to walk according to Your purpose. As we trust You, we will have all we need to show Your love to others and lead them to You.

In Jesus’ name we pray,

AMEN
