Drop Fifty-Four

Matthew 6:25, 33

[Jesus is speaking] “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for our body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? . . . But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (NASB1995).

So thankful for the opportunity to teach at the Montrose Christian Writers Conference in July of this year (2024). So many “God sightings” during the journey to and from, as well as just being a part of something bigger than myself. Prayed for so many people that week, and still do. Prayed that the words I shared would bring honor and glory to God. One that I prayed for before ever meeting was the person destined to sit beside me on the way home. The Lord provided the opportunity and prepared me to share as appropriate. So thankful for that conversation. I may never know the outcome, but the Lord does. As Matthew 6:33 suggests, when we put God first, all else falls into place.

Heavenly Father,

We live in a fallen world. Sometimes it is difficult to accept the brokenness and trust that You have a way to work it out for good. Thank You for loving us despite our insistence to live our own way. Thank You for patiently waiting for us to realize that everything we seek to find elsewhere can be satisfied only through trusting You.
