Drop Seventy-Four
Psalms 23:4
“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (NASB1995).
Battling the flesh is not for the faint of heart. Addictions come in many forms – food, alcohol, drugs, thinking of oneself as better than another, gossip, and the list goes on. Addictions have a way of flipping the script – instilling a craving for self-destruction and isolating the addict from accepting truth. “The Rings of Power,” a series based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Trilogy of the Rings portrays how the mind can be blinded from truth. All the books demonstrate how addiction can be treated as a god. Whatever addiction we, our loved ones, or even strangers are facing, Jesus is ready to rescue.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for walking with us through the valley of growth. It can be a difficult path, but there are those that have walked this path before. And You have walked with them as well. Thank You for not leaving us dead in trespasses and sin. Thank You for saving us for Your sake. You are the Creator, Giver of Life and Savior of All. As we walk through the valleys, may we hold fast to Your hand and accept Your leadership. Cleanse our hearts and minds of the temptations of the evil one. May we listen to and follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
